This morning I started back to work after vacation by listening to Matt Cutts TED talk, Try Something New for 30 Days . He shares that “30 days is just about the right amount of time to add a new habit or subtract a habit.” One of the most significant points he made is that small changes are more sustainable and more likely to stick.
The ‘happy dance’ part of creating new habits is that as you have success with small changes you gain confidence. As your confidence grows you can take on greater challenges. Why is this? Because one ingredient to successfully changing habits is — BELIEF.
Choose a new good habit at a level where it might be a stretch but it feels achievable. Choose one that gets you happy dancing over each step of progress. Sign up in the right hand column for added support. Don’t wait until the first of the month or next Monday or after this or that. Start a change over the next month right now with the Good Habits Challenge.
